Happy Valentine's Day 2018

Written by
What are you giving your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day, especially if she/he is watching her/his weight? (Just don't forget to give yourself the right kind of love too!)
Try to take the emphasis off food gifts if possible. Here's how:
  • One website that had some interesting ideas helps you print out special Valentine coupons you can print out for a backrub, love speciality, breakfast in bed, date night, movie night, etc.
  • A CMWM recipe cookbook makes a thoughtful gift, just include a promise to make one of the low carb meals for your Valentine!
  • Flowers, perfume, and jewelry are always a great gift (just order the flowers in time and/or make sure the perfume is her favorite scent.)
  • Plants can even make a great gift too, and they last longer! Add a red bow and/or some other Valentine decorations to it and you have a special kind of homemade gift. Or buy some decorated ones already made up.
  • Make a homemade Valentine card with some of your best special creativity, with one of a kind sentiment on some unique Valentine paper in your best handwriting, (yes, hand writing).
  • Give chocolate, but make sure it's the right kind of heart healthy kind (at least 70% dark cocoa).
  • Think about giving a sport, activity and/or hobby related gift for your loved one.
  • How about a cute ceramic Valentine cup with your Valentine's favorite coffee beans or even a gift certificate for Starbucks (or even a gift certificate for Victoria Secret in it!). Throw in a few CMWM Chocolate Delites from CMWM, they always team up well with coffee and are diet compliant!
  • If the weather is nice try a CMWM picnic dinner on the beach, in the woods, or even by a cozy fireplace. Even a winter walk can be romantic.
  • Don’t forget pretty lingerie is always a treat for both of you!
  • If you still feel a romantic meal is the way to go, at least make it a healthy and low calorie one. Use something from the CMWM recipe cookbook or a clinic approved recipe. It won't make your Valentine happy to gain weight on a romantic evening.
  • Still need more options? Google "Romantic things to do on Valentine's Day" on the internet for more ideas!
And on a lighter note, "If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?" - Author Unknown.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

In the Moment of a Diet Decision...

Written by
Do you struggle with your weight loss goal on a regular basis? Do some days go along easily, while other days it just feels like it's just one big forceful effort just to be free of the commitment of dieting? Here's something to really think about that may help you struggle less.
The minute I start touting the effectiveness of a food diary, patients frequently throw up their hands and say, "I don't want to be bothered with a food diary," or "I don't have the time to do that." So, I'm asking you to please, not say that now and take the time to hear me out!: Did you know...
